Summer Stitching

With all the sunshine we've had over the past few days I've been tempted to take a frame out into the garden for some counted thread work.  I've completed the design but it'll probably have to wait until the autumn to be made into something.  A cushion perhaps.

I enjoy making embroideries in three dimensions and a stroll round my garden has given me inspiration for two new vessels.  I have a lot of work ahead!

  1. A beautiful and complex piece Naida, a cushion to be admired and not to be sat on! Look forward to seeing your new vessels, I liked your previous three dimensional work alot.

    1. Hi Sue,
      Thanks for your lovely comments.
It does look complex now that it's finished and I'm really pleased with it, but most of the embroidery is just Kloster blocks and variations on a Star motif.

    1. Hi Suz,
Thanks, that's a welcome comment from a skilled stitcher such as yourself.
You probably know that clicking on the image will enlarge it a bit. It's worked on 22count hardanger fabric with perle threads.

  3. How beautiful, it looks so intricate. I'm sure it will be given pride of place once it's made in to something, it certainly deserves it.
